Hi, I'm using an EliteBook 8460p. Now when I try to enter BIOS settings, the computer asks for entering Windows account password or enroll fingerprint. Whatever I do, when password is accepted and finger print recognized, it brought me to 'read-only' BIOS settings, only some settings are changable. (please refer screenshots) I looked into every menu in BIOS to enable settings changing, but no glue. Maybe in the past I used some kind of HP security software to lock BIOS settings. I am sorry about the issue you experience. ![]() Windows only options are Shutdown, hibernate and sleep (and do nothing).Could you be more specifc - when you close the lid does the machine shutdown (or appears to be shutdown) and then, when you press the power button it appears to be starting again? Or when you close the lid, it goes through the whole Windows restart process (kind of strange to impossible, but just asking)? Or when you close the lid, it gives some error for fast and restarts it self very fast (but not through the typical restart process (you know - logging off, shutting down, starting windows.) If you are unsure, you can test it by closing the lid, listen to the machine, wait some seconds, and open the lid again immediately to see what is going on. Thanks for your cooperation! In the System Configuration tab I found the place to switch VT-X on, except that in my BIOS, it doesn't actually show what the current value is! Hp Elitebook 8560w Drivers Windows 10It just says 'Change', 'Hide' and 'View'. Ethernet controller driver for hp. So I selected 'Change' and then saved that in the hope that it would do something, and it hasn't. So my question is more to do with an un-intuitive BIOS interface more than anything. How can I see the current settings and get the change to stick? For reference, I've got an HP Elitebook Folio 9470m I imagine I've missed something really glaringly obvious along the way, please help! All help is soooo gratefully received! Tim Hellomonkf1sh.I don't have any specific suggestions for your problem but I will point out that since this is a business product you may want to also post your question on the HP Business Boards. Issue - I connected a Dual 1Gbit LAN Express Card (Exsys EX-6088) to HP EliteBook 8470p and installed the drived as instructed by the express card manufacturer. To my surprise, only one of the 2 Gbit ports are discovered. I updated the BIOS, drivers, reinstalled the OS, all the possible troubleshooting, no positive results unfortunatelly. I connected the same express card to an HP EliteBook 8460p and proceed the same way with the driver installation.
